Has this gorgeous, early summer weather got you dreaming of summer holidays abroad and late summer evenings out in the garden?
It certainly has for me. A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to stay in a converted stone farmhouse, set into the side of a hill in the rural Pyrenees. From the house you could see forests and the snowy tops of the Pyrenees mountains – even in June.
Having decided to take a trip in to the nearest town one day (to stock up on baguettes and brie) the usually sleepy town was alive with visitors and market sellers. A traditional French brocante was in full swing and the colours of the bright and cheerful town houses and shops were illuminated even more by the bright sunshine and hive of activity. Here are a few snaps I took that day. If you get the chance to travel to Mirepoix or happen to be passing-by I highly recommend a visit.
