Spring has sprung over the last few weeks and with that the flea markets and vintage fairs are also booming. Here are a few of my recent vintage fabric finds which will be making their way over to my Etsy shop in the shape of cushions, giant bolster pillows, bags, sketchbooks – you name it what ever my imagination turns it into. But for now, grab a cuppa and indulge in some vintage floral goodness!
I found this lovely bit of needle point at a flea market. I’ve ripped it off a smelly old cushion and given it a good wash – it’s a little bit worse for wear so I’ll be keeping it for myself to assist on photoshoots as an extra bit of vintage prettyness!
I am absolutely loving this gorgeous blue floral fabric, I’ve bought some gold velvet ribbon to edge it with and it’s sitting pretty in my sewing studio, ready to be made into a giant cushion. It’s going to be super pretty.
These two are also finds from a recent flea market. Both super soft and also going to make lovely, soft bumper sized pillows. The paisley especially is a lovely soft light weight cushion that’s extremely strokeable!
I’ve also started collecting vintage silko threads and scraps of vintage lace, because why not…
Here’s a lovely little bit of vintage Laura Ashley floral fabric. Not sure what to make this into yet so if you have any ideas, let me know in the comments or on Instagram!
And onto barkcloth, I just love the bright vibrant colours of this fabric and I’ve already sewn some of this into cushion covers and fabric covered notebooks which are now listed in my Etsy shop. The rest I’m planning to turn into a skirt for me!
And that’s it for now but there’s plenty more coming your way in the next few weeks. In the meantime, check out Instagram for a regular injection of vintage floral goodness.
