I do love May. May is when it starts to look like summer might actually make an appearance at some point again. There are leaves on the trees, the flowers are blooming, floral bunting is strung up and everything just looks so lush and green.
You also can’t ignore the ring of church bells. Yes, wedding season is upon us again complete with delicious-smelling peonies, gift lists and blushing brides. Who doesn’t love a May wedding!?
My friend is getting married in a couple of weeks and back in ….possibly October, I said I would make her wedding bunting. Well, I’ve just finished it today and the wedding is in less than two weeks (yeah, I’m a leave it till the last minute kind of person, the best people are…).
So feeling proud of myself for finishing 12,000 miles of bunting (or so it felt) I popped out to dress up the nearest tree to get an idea of the final effect.
The floral fabric on this bunting is vintage and came from an old pair of curtains. It goes perfectly with my chum’s wedding colours which I reinforced with alternating coloured flags.
As it’s May Day today and the sun is shinning, it’s looking very much like the start of summer, especially with floral bunting hung up in my garden.
Time to kick back with a cuppa and a long scroll through Pinterest to pin yet more beautiful bunting pictures, because why not. That’s me for the next three hours then…
If you fancy a ganders at my rather extensive board on bunting, you can find it on my Pinterest. Happy scrolling 🙂
